Maher and Hafed, Tunisians married to South Americans. Maher met and married Bertha (from Guayaquil, Ecuad9r) while both were studying in the USSR. They have one teenage daughter.
Hafed met his wife Violeta (from Peru) while they were both studying in Germany. They have one adorable son Omar. These guys and their wives were part of our close group of friends in Tunis. Hafed speaks Spanish more like a Peruvian than most Peruvians, with all the correct "jerga" (slang). Guillermo cracks up when Hafed talks because it's hard to believe he's Tunisian.
