Monica and Rosa, clowning around at Rosa's uncle's finca in Santo Domingo de los Colorados, in Ecuador. She has his beer, and I have his cigarette. Rosa is married to Abdelkerim, a Tunisian (one of my mom's boyfriends, we call him) and she has lived in Tunisia for over 20 years. She is originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador, a city of dancers. I met her there for 9 days, 9 months after we departed Tunisia. It was great to see her again.
